Zhiliang Ma

(Tsinghua University, China)
Born in 1963, he obtained his Bachelor Degree in 1986 at the Department of Civil Engineering of Tsinghua University, China and his Master Degree in 1989 and Doctor Degree in 1992 at the Department of Civil Engineering of Nagoya University, Japan. He became an Associate Professor in 1994 and a full Professor in 2003 at Tsinghua University.

His major research interests are on the application of information technology in civil engineering. He has been in charge of two large national research projects on IT application in addition to more than 40 research projects and drafted several plans and strategies on applying information technology for the central government of China.

He is now the vice chair of the Branch of Computer Application, China Civil Engineering Society, and the vice chair of the Specialty Committee on Building Information Modeling, China Graphics Society. He acts as the member of expert committee of several nation-wide industrial associations in China. He serves as the member of board of editorial committee of several international and domestic academic journals and is now the associate editor of the journal of Automation in Construction.
